Mitch and Jill were incredibly professional. I had countless questions and exchanged many emails to figure out the details. They replied promptly with thorough information each time. They truly went above and beyond to create the perfect menu to appeal to adults and teenagers.
The food was DELICIOUS and the presentation was equally as perfect. Our guests raved about the food all evening. I especially loved the roasted pork tenderloin crostini and the pumpkin macaroons. They also made a fabulous sangria. I was actually a little sad when we finished the sangria because it was that good!

“My wife and I had to cancel our original wedding in the Philippines and we decided to pivot to a small and intimate wedding in Terlingua, Texas. We live in Seattle, WA and had to select vendors without meeting them in person and in the case of our caterers, never tasting their food beforehand. I cannot explain how delighted we were when we tried Jill and Mitch's food! The first bite immediately put us at ease, we knew we were in good hands.
They put together a custom menu for us based on our favorite food that made the experience even more special. Our wedding trip was 3 nights and 4 days and over that time they put together every meal: breakfast, lunch and dinner. Some of the highlights were a fried chicken sandwich dinner, a breakfast spread of a hash, biscuits and amazing honey butter, and on the wedding night we had surf and turf with perfectly cooked steak and the best cod we ever had.
Every guest personally let us know how good the food was - and we're so thankful to Jill & Mitch! Would recommend them to anyone for any event!”

"Our wedding dinner was everything we could have asked for…Jill and Mitch Janszen, owners of Essen in The Woodlands, Texas fulfilled our requests for a wedding dinner for 15 at our destination wedding in Grayton Beach, Florida..our tummies were full of amazing food and each course was planned out with intense detail!!
We had appetizers before the beach wedding took place that were delicious and amazing!! After we came in from the beach photography sessions, we had passed crab cakes, homemade tostada chips topped with spicy shrimp! On the bar area, Jill and Mitch displayed the creamiest hummus with veggies, cheese platter with toasted sourdough bread crustinis….everything was just so incredible!!
We had planned a seated dinner that began with a wedge salad with bacon crumbles and homemade ranch dressing with blue cheese crumbles. Our main course was filet mignon with scallops sitting on a bed of puréed potatoes and served with a passed family style grilled vegetable plate! Our dessert was an ice cream bar set up for every one to partake after the dinner was over!!
Jill and Mitch brought their experienced staff and servers!! Everything was prepared and served so nicely!! The entire evening was so special for our family and our pastor and his wife!!
I would highly recommend and can’t wait to use them again when we are back in The Woodlands! Essen was a huge bonus to our wonderful wedding week!!"

The best word to describe our entire experience is AMAZING! From the moment we stepped in to their office for the tasting for my daughter's wedding, we felt like family. It was such an easy choice when we left that Essen would be the caterer that we picked for the event. Jill and Staff went above and beyond from communication to the day of service and quality of food served. We received so many compliments on the food and the service! Thanks again Essen! We will be using you all again!

Essen catered our wedding and provided not only the most incredible food but also top notch service. From the initial consultation to the tasting to the big day, Jill and her team were absolutely amazing. Their communication and level of organization was so appreciated as we were coordinating multiple vendors leading up to the wedding day. Their appetizers, salads, entrees, sides AND desserts were to die for!! Soo many guests have reached out to us since the wedding with nothing but praises for the food provided by Essen.
Their servers made sure to find the wedding party during cocktail hour photos to make sure we got plenty to eat, this was such a nice personal touch. My husband and I chose to do a private dinner and Jill delivered the plates to us herself to make sure we had everything we needed. That night, we were sent on our way with to-go boxes of fresh meals, multiple different desserts, and even a bottle of champagne with a handwritten note from Essen. We cannot recommend Essen enough for all of your catering needs, they are the best of the best!
